 Meet Our Physically Challanged Birds

Most Physically challanged birds are also known as handicap and remain in their present condition because for the rest of  their life. Most owners refuse or are unable to afford the cost associated for proper veterinary care and leave their bird to live a struglled life sometimes in pain then surrender them because of lack of patience and responsability toward their care.

HANDICAPPED BIRDS NEED YOUR SUPPORT

THEY ARE SURRENDERED AND UNWANTED BY OWNERS

PLEASE SPONSOR A HANDICAP'S LIFE WITH A MONTHLY DONATION TOWARD THEIR CARE

Cindy

A very young Cockatiel whose sex is undetermined.
Sweets is very playful and gets around well in the cage with many flat surfaces to accommodate her needs.
Her physical disadvantage affects her claws; one has no feeling or movement in it.

 CINDY HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Her new family includes 2 Teenagers Tiffany and Felicia.
Tiffany is the first Disabled Teen who has benefitted from our Best Friend to Disabled Teens & Adult Program.
Tiffany's trip to visit our refuge was funded by one of our associate members of www.wishuponahero.com.
Thank you Gloria (educateme) for helping us making Tiffany's wish come true.

Lemon

This older Parakeet has a healed fractured leg. Her physical handicap does not seem to slow her down any.
She is very playful and manages herself quite well in a cage. She does have flight and loves fresh vegetables and rice.
Lemon is not tamed.

Mimi

This wonderful female Blue Fronted Amazon is 24 years old and she is tamed.
She was weaned by her owner and very much loved.
Mimi has a broken healed wing and is unable to fly.
After spending six years with the owner’s daughter, Mimi was relinquished to us for long term care.
She has a very large vocabulary and is continually learning new words and sentences.

Sabrina

A 14 year old female Cockatiel.
Sabrina is very friendly, tamed and talkative.
Her physical disadvantage prevents her from flying.
She interacts well with other Cockatiels and likes time out of cage.

Ruby

Ruby is a gorgeous Umbrella/Goffin Cockatoo.
This unique and loving Cockatoo is very petite with white, yellow and pink feathers.
She is tamed and talkative.
We were told she is 30+ years old and is not banded.

DONATIONS  toward her veterinary care for her broken wing are immidiately needed and appreciated.

Sweets

A very young Cockatiel whose sex is undetermined.
Sweets is very playful and gets around well in the cage with many flat surfaces to accommodate her needs. Her physical disadvantage affects her claws; one has no feeling or movement in it.
