Under My Wing Avian Refuge

Under My Wing Avian Refuge is a no-kill exotic bird rescue with a tender heart toward exotic birds. Established to remain a charitable organization. Our mission is providing companion birds with temporary and long term complete care. Our main purpose is to serve and fulfill the needs of the behaviorally, physically challenged, the sick and the older by offering a safe, comfortable living environment for this small fraction of the thousands of Exotic Birds who have been abused, neglected are unwanted and emotionally scarred for life. 

We aim to aid in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and abandoned Exotic Birds along 
with safeguarding them from becoming extinct. 

We administer compassion and provide humane care and treatment while protecting and providing parrots with a safe refuge from harm and abuse where we provide parrots with a trusting relation, a healthy diet, proper Avian Veterinary Care and mental stimulation and seek to return lost birds to their owners.

In remaining committed to the responsibility to care for the parrots life and wellbeing who are relinquished to our care, we do not foster any bird in foster homes. Adoptable relinquished birds live with us and on premises until such time as a safe, healthy and trustworthy home may be secured.

Under our care the terminally ill, emotionally scared and physically challenged parrots for their benefit are provided with hospice accommodation on premises and are carefully monitored where they are nurtured according to their specific needs for their well being and welfare not lacking the proper comfort and care needed.

Under my Wing Avian Refuge is seeking to expend the existing accommodations with a standalone building that includes an indoor/outdoor flight space for the many species of birds under our care and for the comfort of the special need birds as well as the unsuitable for adoption who will reside permanently under our care due to various reasons to live permanently in. Likewise, to secure a trained staff of volunteers to care for the numerous crisis at hand and emergency situations that continually arise for the many relinquished parrots due to; owner illness, death, emergency relocation, foreclosures, abuse or neglect.  

We shall remain faithful to ensuring each parrot in our care receives proper veterinary care and to provide proper nurishment to help restore health to the under-nourished parrots with a high protein diet that includes fresh fruits and vegetables as part of a healthy diet.

Our passionate staff is committed to shows forth patience and unconditional love to the many unwanted, neglected and emotionally scarred parrots who have been denied the acceptance and love they deserved by restoring trust and treating parrots with the respect they deserve. Once a parrot gains our trust are able then to utilize training methods that will not harm or cause additional fears in order to gain the minimal outcome of the untamed parrots to become responsive and no longer be trapped in their fear of humans. Likewise, we free the cage imprisoned parrots by allowing adequate time away from a cage setting and by reconditioning them to the use of the cage only as a comfort zone.

Under My Wing Avian Refuge shall continually target toward increasing the quality of life of the forsaken, unwanted, and orphan parrots by upholding a strict policy, process, making use of a binding contract for adoptions and assuring new owners to be trustworthy for each adoptable parrot in our care.

We shall continue to educate youngsters all about exotic birds and philanthropy to benefit the future of their species and equip the youth with hands on knowledge to care for parrots and their possible ownership of them. 

Under My Wing Avian Refuge has established relationships and educatea and counseled with understanding and compassion and will continue to do so to as many exotic bird owners who are willing to learn, bringing awareness to the public of the Exotic Bird’s traits, care and maintenance.

We are a “no-kill” Exotic Bird Sacntuary we do not have birds euthanized.

Our organization shall not by any means conduct or operate for profit and no part of any profits or remainder of residue from donations to the group shall endure to the benefit of any members or individuals.
